birdsong
Artist Statement/Inspiration:
I first met Jina at a dinner party at our friend’s house. She made a couple of jokes with undertones of wit and light quirks that caught my ear, and soon after my heart - the kind delivered by someone who is light in spirit, but grounded in soul.
As our friendship deepened, I grew to love Jina not only for her song-filled presence, but for her integrity — the structured vessel shaped to hold compassion and understanding both for herself and those around her. In her clarity, connection flows seamlessly across her mind, spirit, and soul.
I have had the joy of witnessing Jina dance and sing in light and weep in the open giving permission for others to do the same, myself included. She nourished with her presence as she encourages us not only to be who we are, but to explore what we have yet to become. She exemplifies to live a good life is not one without challenges, but with fortitude to ride and fall with the ebbs and waves along the way.
Jina, you are indeed a force of life to witness and a gift to paint. Cherry blossoms, red cardinals, and life bloom around you, in this life, in your song.
